I am so excited to introduce our new blog as a way to share our passion for locally produced Irish Linen, give you some home tips and last but not least showcase the world famous Causeway Coast where we are based.
I have had a long career in interiors and textiles and have strong family links to linen because both my grandfathers grew flax.
The story of Linen Lane began three years ago with the discovery of one of the last working linen mills in Northern Ireland.I was so delighted to find somewhere still producing the fabric which was so important in our history.
At one time the growing of flax and production of linen was a vital part of our economy, unfortunately this has declined dramatically in recent decades.
Promoting Irish Linen is something which I am passionate about especially as it is one of the most sustainable fabrics available.
I love using it to produce lovely things for your home and to give as gifts to the special people in your life!
